The focus of our Psychology research
Research.com’s best scientists ranking is a credible
lineup of leading scientists from the discipline of
Psychology, established by means of a thorough
study of 166,880 scholars identified
from a variety of bibliometric data sources. For the field of
Psychology, as many as 15018 researchers were
analysed.
What is D-index approval threshold for Psychology
The D-index threshold for accepting a researcher to be
examined is set to 30 if
the majority of of their publications are in the discipline of Psychology. The
inclusion factors for researchers to be
considered into the ranking of top researchers are based on the D-index,
ratio of the publications made within the selected
area in addition to the awards and achievements of the
scientists. The D-index threshold for listing leading
scientists is set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of
scholars assessed for each
discipline whilst guaranteeing that the top 1% of
leading scientists are added into the ranking.
There should be a proximity of 30% or less between a scientist’s
general H-index and their D-index.
Other verification practices
Because our main goal is to make sure that only
actual scholars are mentioned in
Research.com ranking we believe that metrics are never
meant to be a complete means to quantify the
contributions of scientists. This is why
we manually inspect each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a
wide range of reliable sources. Even though it’s not a
factor impacting a scientist’s position in
our ranking, the quantity of papers published in
major journals and conference proceedings should constitute a
valuable secondary implication of their contribution to research in a
selected field of study. Position in the ranking is
determined by every researcher’s D-index
according to data collected from OpenAlex and
CrossRef, which are the most trustworthy and well-established bibliometric
databases of this type open to the research community. A
comprehensive definition of our research process
can be found on our
methodology page.
Our mission
Our aim is to motivate researchers,
entrepreneurs and administrative bodies
around the world to examine where leading experts are heading
and to provide an opportunity for the entire research community to
get to know who the leading experts in specific
disciplines, in various countries, or even within research
institutions are.
