The 1st edition of Research.com ranking of the top universities in France is based on information collected from Microsoft Academic Graph on 06-12-2021. Position in our global university ranking is based on total H-index values of every leading scientist affiliated with a specific university. A leading scientist is a researcher with a D-index (discipline H-index) higher than a specific threshold (in most cases 30 or 40) for their fields of study. The ranking process involved meticulous analysis of 166,880 researchers on Google Scholar as well as Microsoft Academic Graph.

In contrast to other world university rankings our goal is to focus mostly on research accomplishments of leading researchers associated with each institution. We hope to inspire scholars, executives, and decision-makers worldwide to find out where top experts are heading and to offer an opportunity for the whole scientific community to confirm who the leading authorities in various fields of research, in different geographies, or possibly within research organizations are.
The ranking process involved a detailed examination of 166,880 researchers’ profiles from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph. Over 132,836 profiles were examined. Scientists from more than 2,814 institutions and affiliations were analyzed.
