The 2nd edition of Research.com ranking of the leading universities in India is based on information acquired from Microsoft Academic Graph on 21-12-2022. Position in our world university ranking is based on a sum of H-index values of all leading scientists associated with a specific university. A leading scientist is a scholar with a D-index (discipline H-index) above a specific threshold (usually 30 or 40) for their scientific disciplines. The ranking process involved meticulous evaluation of 166,880 researchers on Google Scholar as well as Microsoft Academic Graph.

In comparison to other global university rankings our aim is to focus mostly on research work of top scholars associated with each institution. We want to inspire researchers, business-owners, and decision-makers around the world to explore where top science authorities are heading and to offer an opportunity for the entire scientific community to confirm who the leading authorities in popular areas of research, in particular countries, or possibly within scientific institutions are.
The ranking process involved a detailed examination of 166,880 researchers’ profiles from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph. Over 143,564 profiles were examined. Scientists from more than 2,953 institutions and affiliations were analyzed.
