A researcher’s position in the ranking is determined by their D-index (Discipline H-index), a specialized variant of the traditional H-index that focuses exclusively on publications and citation counts within the designated discipline of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, thereby promoting disciplinary relevance and precision.

Our evaluative process began with an examination of 279,971 scientist profiles identified across all scholarly disciplines through a range of bibliometric sources. To qualify for the ranking, a candidate’s D-index was required to be at least 30, ensuring a minimum threshold of scholarly impact within the discipline. Although the number of papers published in prominent journals and conference proceedings does not directly influence a researcher’s ranking position, it serves as a valuable secondary indicator of a scientist’s contribution to the advancement of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering research.
