The scope of our Business and Management research
Our best scientists ranking is a reliable
account of leading researchers from the area of
Business and Management, established by means of a meticulous
examination of 166,880 researchers identified
from various bibliometric data sources. For the field of
Business and Management, as many as 7819 scientists were
analysed.
What is D-index inclusion threshold for Business and Management
The D-index threshold for including a scientist to be
evaluated is set to 30 if
the majority of of their publications are in the discipline of Business and Management. The
approval factors for scholars to be
considered into the ranking of top scientists are based on the D-index, ratio
of the contributions made within the given area
as well as the awards and achievements of the scientists. The
D-index threshold for including leading scholars is
set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of researchers
estimated for each area od study whilst
making sure that the top 1% of best scientists are
considered into the ranking. There should be a proximity of
30% or less between a scientist’s general H-index and their D-index.
Additional verification practices
As our main mission is to ensure that only
genuine scientists are listed in
our ranking we realize that raw data are never
supposed to be an absolute means to quantify the
contributions of scholars. This is why
we manually verify every profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a
wide range of trustworthy sources. Although it’s not a
element impacting a scholar’s position in
our ranking, the quantity of documents published in
major journals and conference proceedings should constitute a
credible secondary implication of their contribution to research in a
specific discipline. Position in the ranking is
established using every scientist’s D-index
using data collected from OpenAlex and
CrossRef, which are the most trustworthy and well-established bibliometric
databases of this kind accessible to the research community. A
detailed overview of our research policy
can be found on our
methodology page.
Our mission
Our goal is to inspire researchers,
entrepreneurs and politicians
around the world to examine where prominent experts are heading
and to provide an opportunity for the entire research community to
discover who the leading experts in specific
fields of research, in various countries, or even within research
institutions are.
