Data Sources and Methodology Basis
The 4th edition of the Research.com Best Medicine Scientists in Kyrgyzstan Ranking has been developed using a comprehensive and reliable bibliometric approach. The primary sources of data include OpenAlex and CrossRef, both recognized as leading bibliometric databases, in addition to multiple other authoritative data sources. The core bibliometric data used to devise the citation-based metrics were meticulously collected on 2024-11-27.
A scientist’s position in the ranking is derived from their D-index (Discipline H-index), an indicator that considers only the researcher’s publications and citation metrics specific to the examined discipline. This discipline-focused metric ensures fair and accurate assessment of scientific contribution within Medicine.
Scope of Research and Inclusion Criteria
In crafting this ranking, profiles of 279,971 scientists spanning all disciplines were extensively examined using data collated from a variety of bibliometric sources. Within the domain of Medicine in Kyrgyzstan, 1 scientist fully met the rigorous inclusion criteria.
- The main qualifying criterion was a D-index of at least 70, along with a majority of publications in the area of Medicine.
- The researcher’s awards and achievements within the field of Medicine were also taken into account during the evaluation process.
- The D-index threshold for top researchers is calibrated in increments of 10, aligned to the estimated scholar population per discipline, ensuring that the top 1% of leading scholars are represented in the list.
- To guarantee subject-matter expertise, there must be a proximity of 30% or less between a researcher’s general H-index and their D-index.
Verification and Quality Assurance Practices
The Research.com team recognizes the limitations of raw bibliometric data and reinforces evaluation quality through a series of robust verification methods:
- All scientist profiles under consideration were manually verified, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy.
- Profiles were cross-correlated against a wide range of trustworthy publication records, not solely relying on automatic database entries.
- While not directly contributing to ranking positions, the number of publications in prominent journals and conference proceedings serves as a valuable supplementary indicator of scientific impact and contribution in Medicine.
- The final position in the ranking is determined exclusively by each researcher’s D-index, as measured by OpenAlex and CrossRef—the most reputable bibliometric resources in use by the global research community.
