Additionally, awards and notable achievements specifically related to Medicine were taken into consideration to affirm their standing in the domain.
The D-index threshold for top researchers is calibrated in increments of 10, adjusted according to the estimated total number of scholars in each discipline. This calibration ensures that the ranking inclusively represents the top 1% of leading experts in Medicine. Furthermore, to maintain consistency and domain relevance, a proximity threshold requires that the difference between a scientist’s general H-index and their D-index remain within 30%.

Recognizing that raw bibliometric data alone cannot serve as an absolute measure of scholarly output, the Research.com team implemented rigorous manual verification procedures.
