Memorial University of Newfoundland, commonly referred to as Memorial University (MUN), was established in 1925 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Created as a living memorial to Newfoundlanders who lost their lives during active service, MUN is a comprehensive, public research-intensive institution.
