The focus of our Political Science research

What is D-index acceptance threshold for Political Science
The D-index threshold for including a scholar to be evaluated is established at 20 if the majority of of their publications are in the field of Political Science. The inclusion requirements for researchers to be considered into the ranking of top scientists are based on the D-index, ratio of the contributions made within the given discipline plus the awards and achievements of the scholars. The D-index threshold for including leading scientists is set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of scientists assessed for each scientific field whilst making sure that the top 1% of best researchers are incorporated into the ranking. There should be a proximity of 30% or less between a researcher’s general H-index and their D-index.

Extra verification practices
Because our main mission is to guarantee that only actual researchers are included in Research.com ranking we realize that metrics are never supposed to be a full measure to assess the work of researchers. This is why we manually inspect every profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a wide range of trustworthy sources. Even though it’s not a factor contributing to a researcher’s position in the ranking, the quantity of papers published in well-known journals and conference proceedings should be a valuable secondary implication of their contribution to research in a specific area of science. Position in the ranking is determined by each scholar’s D-index with the help of information collected from OpenAlex and CrossRef, which are the most prominent and well-established bibliometric databases of this type accessible to the research community. A comprehensive definition of our research procedures can be found on our methodology page.

Our goal
Our aim is to motivate scholars, businessmen and politicians around the world to explore where leading experts are heading and to provide an opportunity for the whole research community to discover who the leading experts in specific fields of research, in various countries, or even within research institutions are.
