Additional honors included the William James Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science in 1989, a fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 1980, and a fellowship from the American Psychological Association in 1975.

Luce was also a member of the National Academy of Sciences since 1972 and received the APA Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Psychology from the American Psychological Association in 1970. Earlier in their career, Luce was recognized as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science twice, once in 1958 and again as early as 1935.
