Overview
The University of Bari Aldo Moro, or UBAM, is a public university in Bari, a port city nestled on the Adriatic Sea in Southern Italy. UBAM is one of the leading universities in the region. It is also among the universities in the country with the largest on-campus student population—the number of students has crossed the 60,000 mark by its 95th year. As a research institution, UBAM focuses on doctoral-level research studies in fields such as agricultural science, economics, foreign languages, and other branches of applied science.
Founded in 1925, UBAM started as University of Bari before changing its name by adding “Aldo Moro” in honor of one of its alumni, Italian statesman and Italy’s 38th prime minister Aldo Romeo Luigi Moro who studied law in the university and also taught Philosophy of Law Colonial Policy and Criminal Law. Over the years, UBAM has transformed itself into one of Italy’s most prestigious universities. UBAM also gradually making its way up international rankings as it carves its place in the global scene, earning worldwide recognition for more than 300 publications, over 400 citations, and more than 500 patents and counting.
When it comes to its academic offerings, programs include an impressive lineup of courses that cover a broad range of studies, including biotechnological sciences, arts and philosophy, foreign languages and literature, medicine and surgery, pharmacy, and others. UBAM is also open to international students who are interested to experience the quality of education UBAM offers. Its postgraduate program, on the other hand, requires a more rigorous process as the university only accepts a limited number of applications for postgraduate studies. UBAM is also part of the Erasmus+, a European Commission's Programme for students, lecturers and teachers, apprentices, youth workers, and others who would like to study and train for sports in other countries within and outside the European Union.
As a research-intensive university, UBAM’s facilities conduct activities that have both local and international impact. Among UBAM’s research centers are interdepartmental facilities, such as the Innovative Technologies for Signal Detection and Processing. This research center is dedicated to performing research and development of innovative technology that can be applied to detectors and sensors, as well as developing a more sophisticated approach to modeling and analysis of big data. Another facility is the Research Laboratory for the Diagnostics of Cultural Heritage, which is a one-of-a-kind facility in the region dedicated to experimenting and developing research methodologies and scientific knowledge on various aspects relevant to the discovery and preservation of architectural, archaeological, historical, and artistic heritage.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 70 within the area of
Medicine. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
