Overview: University of the Balearic Islands

The University of the Balearic Islands (Universitat de les Illes Balears, UIB) was officially established in 1978, although higher education on the Balearic Islands dates back to the 15th century. Located in Palma on the island of Mallorca, Spain, UIB is a public, research-oriented comprehensive university. The main campus is situated just north of the city, complemented by additional centres across Menorca and Ibiza. Today, UIB serves over 16,000 students and is organized into six faculties and two university schools, offering a diverse and vibrant academic environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate study.
