Overview
Nanyang Technological University is a top-ranking research institution in Singapore. It is the second oldest public autonomous research university in the country and consistently ranks among the top universities in the world. Since its establishment in 1981, the university has achieved international acclaim for its teaching excellence and research output, making it one of the highest ranked universities in the Asia Pacific region.
The university serves around 33,000 local and international students in a broad range of study areas, including engineering, science, business, arts, humanities, social sciences, medicine, and education. It is organized into seven colleges—the Nanyang Business School (College of Business), College of Engineering, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, College of Science, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, National Institute of Education, and S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies.
There are two types of programs offered by the university: coursework and research. Under the coursework programs are arts, humanities, design and media, electronic engineering, and social sciences. Meanwhile, the research programs cover the following fields of study: biological science, physical science, and chemical and biomedical engineering,
Situated in the southwest area of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University is divided into two campuses. The main campus, which covers a wide area of over 200 hectares, is located in Yunnan Garden. It is considered as the largest university campus in Singapore, housing two graduate halls and around 24 halls of residence for undergraduate students. The campus also served as the site of the 2010 Youth Olympic Games, an international multi-sport event held every four years.
The other campus is situated at the center of Singapore’s medical district in Novena. It is surrounded by several research institutions and laboratories, enabling students to participate in medical teaching and research activities with the university’s partner organizations. The Tan Tock Seng Hospital, which is located in downtown Novena, serves as the university’s partner teaching hospital.
Meanwhile, the university’s halls of residence accommodate around 14,000 local and international students, guaranteeing every freshman with a hostel room for two years. Each hall includes communal facilities like pantries, air-conditioned reading rooms, lounges, and laundry rooms.
As a research-intensive university, Nanyang Technological University also serves as home to leading research centers, such as the Energy Research Institute and the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute. It also houses a number of world-class institutes, including S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, the National Institute of Education, Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering, and Earth Observatory of Singapore.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 40 within the area of
Materials Science. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
contact us.
