Overview
Jiangsu University
Jiangsu University (JSU) is a public research university in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. It was founded in 1902 as a part of Sanjiang Normal University. It had undergone numerous changes until it became Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in 1994. It then merged with Zhenjiang Teachers’ College and Zhenjiang Medical College in 2001 to become the present-day JSU. As a National Key University, it is under the care of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Jiangsu Provincial Government. The university ranks high in various fields of study and research.
Jiangsu University Key Statistics
JSU comprises 20 schools and one college. These include the School of Teacher's Education, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, the School of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering, the School of Finance and Economics, the School of Food and Biological Engineering, and the Jingjiang College.
Jiangsu University offers 88 undergraduate programs, 170 master programs, and 42 Ph.D. programs in 10 academic fields, namely, education, law, history, literature, medicine, economics, management, science, and engineering.
The university has a student population of 34,100, composed of 29,200 undergraduates, 4,300 postgraduates, and 600 Ph.D.s. JSU is manned by 4,500 administrative staff and 1,950 teaching personnel.
The other Jiangsu University key statistics are its international collaborations with numerous universities overseas, such as with Purdue University (U.S.A), Cornell University (U.S.A.), National Taiwan University (Taiwan), University of Zurich (Switzerland), University of Ottawa (Canada), and Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland).
Jiangsu University Research
Over the last 5 years, JSU has engaged in high-level research, with a total scientific research fund amounting to ¥25 billion ($3.8 billion), coming from the Chinese government and business organizations.
Five research fields have rated high worldwide in ESI (Essential Sciences Indicators) rankings, namely, agriculture science, chemistry, materials science, clinical medicine, and engineering. Jiangsu University research outputs have been published in international journals such as the Chemical Engineering Journal, Applied Catalysis B-Environmental, and the Journal of Alloys and Compounds. Its researchers have attended major conferences like the Joint International Conference on Information Sciences, the International Conference on Learning Representations, and the International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
Its most cited publication is Wang and Wang’s (2012) “Knowledge sharing, innovation, and firm performance.” Published in Expert Systems With Applications, it has been cited 1,032 times to date. The second most cited research output is Gou et al.’s (2014) “Maximum neighborhood margin discriminant projection for classification,” published in The Scientific World Journal with 932 citations. The third most cited publication is Zhang et al.’s (2014) “Reviewing the anaerobic digestion of food waste for biogas production,” featured in the Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, with 908 citations.
Some of its research institutes and centers include the International Genome Center, the Institute of Environmental Health and Ecological Security, the Engineering Training Center, the Institute of Green Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Micro-nano Optoelectronics and Terahertz Technology. It also has 13 post-doctoral research stations.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 40 within the area of
Materials Science. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
contact us.
