Overview of the University of the Basque Country

The University of the Basque Country (Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, UPV/EHU) was established in 1980, building on historic academic roots dating back to 1936. Located in the Basque Autonomous Community in northern Spain, its three main campuses are situated in the cities of Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, and San Sebastián. As a large, public, and comprehensive research university, UPV/EHU serves a diverse student body of approximately 45,000 students and employs over 7,000 academic and administrative staff.
