Overview

Macquarie University is a top public research university that aims to become a hub of unconstrained and inspired thinking. Nestled in the heart of Macquarie Park in Sydney, Australia, it was the third university established in Sydney's metropolitan area back in 1964. It was also the first to align its degree system and programs with the Bologna Accord.

The university is established as a verdant school with various degree offerings from numerous departments. These are categorized into several faculty groups, namely the (1) Macquarie Business School, (2) Faculty of Arts, (3) Faculty of Science and Engineering, (4) Faculty of Human Sciences, and (5) Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Some of Macquarie University's alumni are leaders in their industries. For example, Neil Weste and David Skellern helped develop Wi-Fi. The university's Department of Linguistics developed the Macquarie Dictionary, the standard reference for Australian English.
