Overview
Macquarie University is a top public research university that aims to become a hub of unconstrained and inspired thinking. Nestled in the heart of Macquarie Park in Sydney, Australia, it was the third university established in Sydney's metropolitan area back in 1964. It was also the first to align its degree system and programs with the Bologna Accord.
The university is established as a verdant school with various degree offerings from numerous departments. These are categorized into several faculty groups, namely the (1) Macquarie Business School, (2) Faculty of Arts, (3) Faculty of Science and Engineering, (4) Faculty of Human Sciences, and (5) Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Aside from faculties, the university also houses research centers and other institutes, such as The Australian Research Institute for Environment and Sustainability and The Australian Hearing Hub. The latter also includes the Cochlear Headquarters and Australian Hearing's head office. The Macquarie University Hospital is also on-campus, together with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This teaching hospital integrates three key components to serve students and the public: research, education, and clinical care.
Macquarie University offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. It also offers double degree options for more flexible learning opportunities. For non-school and other applicants, diploma courses and certificates focusing on specific areas of studies are also available. Furthermore, foundational courses are available to those looking for other pathways of learning.
Online intensive and foundation programs are also available to students in search of more flexibility. The institute's accelerated learning model helps online students acquire diplomas in various study areas, such as Engineering, Commerce, Media and Communications, and Information Technology.
Macquarie University also offers student accommodation within the premises of the campus. As all facilities, classrooms, food outlets, and more are within walking distance, students can cut down time spent on transportation and focus more on their studies. It is supported by student service professionals and residential advisors to ensure balance between academic and social life. The university also offers off-campus and other accommodations with vibrant student culture like the Macquarie University Village, the Dunmore Lang College, and the Morling Residential College, among others. Alternative options such as private accommodations, short-stay accommodations, and homestays are also available, especially for international students.
Some of Macquarie University's alumni are leaders in their industries. For example, Neil Weste and David Skellern helped develop Wi-Fi. The latter has also been a significant donor to the university through the Skellern Family Trust. Additionally, Jim Piper and Frank Duarte are considered pioneers of laser designs that are still adopted by researchers and scientists around the world. The university's Department of Linguistics developed the Macquarie Dictionary, the standard reference for Australian English.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 30 within the area of
Ecology and Evolution. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
contact us.
