The University of Ioannina (UoI) is a public university located in Ioannina, Epirus, Greece. It was established in 1964 as an Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-chartered institution. In 1970, it became an independent university and is considered one of the top academic institutions in Greece.
Known to have one of the largest campuses among Greek universities, UoI is filled with numerous green open areas that encircle its four major building compounds. One of the most famous landmarks on campus is the Monastery of Dourouti. Built during the 18th-century, It now functions as a guest house for university visitors.
The university comprises several schools and faculty, which manage their respective departments. These are the School of Agriculture (Agriculture, and Food & Nutrition Sciences), School of Economics and Management (Economics, Accounting, and Finance), School of Education (Pedagogical Department of Primary Education, and Preschool Education), School of Fine Arts (Fine Arts & Art Sciences), and School of Informatics and Telecommunications (Informatics & Telecommunications).
