An important quality control measure was to maintain a proximity of 30% or less between a scientist’s general H-index and their D-index, safeguarding against disproportionate disciplinary bias.

Recognizing that raw bibliometric data alone cannot fully encompass the scholarly contributions of researchers, the team behind this ranking conducted a thorough manual verification of all scientist profiles. Each profile was cross-correlated against publications documented in a wide range of trustworthy and recognized sources to ensure accuracy and reduce data anomalies.
While not directly influencing positional rank, the number of papers published in prominent journals and conference proceedings was also reviewed as an important secondary indicator of a scientist’s stature and contribution to Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering research.
