Each scientist’s position in the ranking is determined by their D-index (Discipline H-index), a refined metric that accounts exclusively for publications and citations pertinent to the examined discipline—in this case, Immunology. This approach allows for accurate and discipline-specific assessment of scientific impact, mitigating inflation from unrelated fields.
Scope and Criteria of the Ranking
This ranking rigorously examines 187,135 scientist profiles aggregated from diverse bibliometric databases spanning all academic disciplines. Specifically, within the Immunology discipline, 2 scientists based in the United Arab Emirates were identified and evaluated for inclusion.
To qualify for the ranking, a scientist’s D-index must be at least 40. Additionally, a majority of their tier publications need to be directly within the field of Immunology. Consideration was also given to the scientist’s awards and achievements pertinent to Immunology, incorporating qualitative assessment alongside quantitative metrics.
The threshold for the D-index used to select top researchers is dynamically calibrated.
