Overview

This comprehensive ranking presents a curated list of scientific conferences within the field of Business and Management, offering valuable guidance for scholars, researchers, and professionals. The ranking is developed by Research.com, a leading authority in science research analysis since 2014. Recognized for its transparent and trusted data on scientific contributions across major fields, Research.com upholds rigorous standards in the evaluation and dissemination of research metrics.

The position of each conference in this ranking is determined by a distinctive bibliometric score, uniquely developed by Research.com. This score is calculated using a combination of the estimated h-index and the number of distinguished scientists who have participated in the conference over the previous three years. This multifaceted approach ensures that the ranking accurately reflects both the scholarly impact and the caliber of participants associated with each event.

The Impact Score values referenced in this ranking were collected as of 2024-11-27, ensuring current and relevant insight for the research community. To ensure a robust and reliable assessment, the ranking process entailed the thorough examination of over 216 conferences, each selected following detailed inspection and stringent analysis of more than 727 scientific documents. These works were published within the last three years by a cohort of 2,177 leading and respected scientists specializing in Business and Management.

This ranking embodies a synthesis of depth, precision, and expert analysis, and is intended to serve as a trusted resource for identifying influential conferences in the field. For a detailed explanation of the methodology employed in computing the ranking scores, please visit our Methodology Page.

Papers citation over time

A key indicator for each conference is its effectiveness in reaching other researchers with the papers published at that venue.

The chart below presents the interquartile range (first quartile 25%, median 50% and third quartile 75%) of the number of citations of articles over time.

The top authors publishing at International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (based on the number of publications) are:

  • Li Shi-ming (4 papers) published 4 papers at the last edition,
  • Li Tao-ying (3 papers) published 3 papers at the last edition,
  • Yu Guang (3 papers) published 3 papers at the last edition,
  • Chen Wei (3 papers) published 3 papers at the last edition,
  • Xu Er-ming (3 papers) published 3 papers at the last edition.

The overall trend for top authors publishing at this conference is outlined below. The chart shows the number of publications at each edition of the conference for top authors.

Only papers with recognized affiliations are considered

The top affiliations publishing at International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (based on the number of publications) are:

  • Harbin Institute of Technology (55 papers) published 55 papers at the last edition,
  • University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (16 papers) published 16 papers at the last edition,
  • Beihang University (11 papers) published 11 papers at the last edition,
  • Hebei University of Technology (11 papers) published 11 papers at the last edition,
  • Wuhan University of Technology (9 papers) published 9 papers at the last edition.

The overall trend for top affiliations publishing at this conference is outlined below. The chart shows the number of publications at each edition of the conference for top affiliations.

Publication chance based on affiliation

The publication chance index shows the ratio of articles published by the best research institutions at the conference edition to all articles published within that conference. The best research institutions were selected based on the largest number of articles published during all editions of the conference.

The chart below presents the percentage ratio of articles from top institutions (based on their ranking of total papers).Top affiliations were grouped by their rank into the following tiers: top 1-10, top 11-20, top 21-50, and top 51+. Only articles with a recognized affiliation are considered.

During the most recent 2013 edition, 14.42% of publications had an unrecognized affiliation. Out of the publications with recognized affiliations, 38.76% were posted by at least one author from the top 10 institutions publishing at the conference. Another 13.48% included authors affiliated with research institutions from the top 11-20 affiliations. Institutions from the 21-50 range included 21.35% of all publications and 26.40% were from other institutions.

Returning Authors Index

A very common phenomenon observed among researchers publishing scientific articles is the intentional selection of conferences they have already attended in the past. In particular, it is worth analyzing the case when the authors participate in the same conference from year to year.

The Returning Authors Index presented below illustrates the ratio of authors who participated in both a given as well as the previous edition of the conference in relation to all participants in a given year.

Returning Institution Index

The graph below shows the Returning Institution Index, illustrating the ratio of institutions that participated in both a given and the previous edition of the conference in relation to all affiliations present in a given year.

The experience to innovation index

Our experience to innovation index was created to show a cross-section of the experience level of authors publishing at a conference. The index includes the authors publishing at the last edition of a conference, grouped by total number of publications throughout their academic career (P) and the total number of citations of these publications ever received (C).

The group intervals were selected empirically to best show the diversity of the authors' experiences, their labels were selected as a convenience, not as judgment. The authors were divided into the following groups:

  • Novice - P < 5 or C < 25 (the number of publications less than 5 or the number of citations less than 25),
  • Competent - P < 10 or C < 100 (the number of publications less than 10 or the number of citations less than 100),
  • Experienced - P < 25 or C < 625 (the number of publications less than 25 or the number of citations less than 625),
  • Master - P < 50 or C < 2500 (the number of publications less than 50 or the number of citations less than 2500),
  • Star - P ≥ 50 and C ≥ 2500 (both the number of publications greater than 50 and the number of citations greater than 2500).

The chart below illustrates experience levels of first authors in cases of publications with multiple authors.

Correlation between Studies and the Job Market

An aspect that this analysis could dive into is the correlation between the focus of these studies and the current dynamics of the job market. For instance, understanding the existing demand for Masters in Business or related degrees would provide a concrete perspective on the practical implications of these research topics. The marketing research and knowledge management topics prominent in these conferences are integral competencies in various business-oriented professions. For instance, an urban planner salary in Missouri is notably influenced by these skills and would thus benefit from the insights derived from such studies. This correlation would thereby demonstrate the relevance and potential impact these research topics have on the professional world. Considering this aspect would indeed enrich further analyses of International Conference on Management Science and Engineering topics.

Related Online Degrees & Career Pathways

For those studying Engineering and Technology, exploring complementary online degrees can open diverse career pathways. One popular option is obtaining a project management degree, which equips graduates with skills to lead and coordinate technology-focused projects across multiple industries. Understanding architecture online degree options can also benefit students interested in integrating structural design with engineering principles. Many programs offer flexibility through accelerated formats.

For those aiming to complete their studies quickly, the availability of architecture programs online enable students to earn credentials within two years or less, making it ideal for working professionals or career changers. Additionally, pursuing a fast track project management degree online is another efficient route to gain essential management expertise and move into leadership roles sooner.

By integrating these degrees with engineering and technology studies, students broaden their skill sets and enhance employability in a competitive job market driven by innovation and interdisciplinary knowledge.
