Additionally, consideration was given to the scientist’s recognized awards and achievements pertinent to the discipline.
The D-index threshold is dynamically adjusted in increments of 10 according to the total estimated number of scholars within each discipline, thereby ensuring that approximately the top 1% of leading researchers are incorporated in the list. Furthermore, to maintain disciplinary relevance, only scientists exhibiting a proximity of 30% or less between their general H-index and their Medicine-specific D-index were considered.
