The bibliometric data used to calculate citation-based metrics for this ranking were collected on January 12, 2026. A scientist’s position in the ranking is determined by their D-index (Discipline H-index), a refined metric that incorporates only publications and citation counts strictly relevant to the examined discipline, in this case, Business and Management. This ensures that the ranking fairly reflects each researcher's impact within their specific field.
Scope of Research and Qualification Criteria
The ranking process involved analyzing a total of 279,971 scientist profiles identified across a broad spectrum of bibliometric data sources covering all academic disciplines. Specifically, for the Business and Management discipline in Bangladesh, 4 scientists were rigorously evaluated.
To qualify for inclusion in the ranking, a researcher was required to have a D-index of at least 30. Additionally, a majority of a qualifying scientist’s tier publications needed to be concentrated within the Business and Management discipline. Consideration was also given to scientists’ awards and key achievements within this field.
The threshold for the D-index is dynamically adjusted in increments of 10 based on the estimated total number of scholars in each discipline. This approach guarantees that the ranking consistently includes the top 1% of leading researchers. Furthermore, an important constraint applied was that the disparity between a scientist’s overall H-index and their D-index should be 30% or less, ensuring alignment between general and discipline-specific research influence.
Verification and Validation Practices
Recognizing that raw bibliometric data alone cannot fully capture the complexity of scientific contributions, the Research.com team undertook meticulous manual verification of all scientist profiles included in the ranking. Each researcher’s publication record was cross-correlated with multiple trustworthy sources to confirm accuracy and authenticity.
Although the quantity of papers published in leading journals and conference proceedings does not directly influence a scientist’s rank, this metric serves as a valuable secondary indicator of research activity and influence within Business and Management.
Ultimately, the researcher’s position is established based on their D-index derived from data gathered via OpenAlex and CrossRef. These databases are globally acknowledged for their reliability and comprehensiveness in bibliometric analysis.
