Spinal cord series and cases mostly deals with topics like Spinal cord injury, Surgery, Rehabilitation, Spinal cord and Physical medicine and rehabilitation. While Spinal cord series and cases focused on Spinal cord injury, it was also able to explore topics like Anesthesia, Physical therapy, Paraplegia and Internal medicine. The journal connects research in Anesthesia with the related topic of Autonomic dysreflexia.
The work tackled in Spinal cord series and cases goes beyond the discipline of Physical therapy as it also encompasses Quality of life. Laminectomy, Myelopathy and Spinal Cord Diseases are some topics wherein Surgery research discussed in it have an impact. Most of the Rehabilitation studies addressed also intersect with Pediatrics.
The journal facilitates discussions on Spinal cord that incorporate concepts from other fields like Cord and Magnetic resonance imaging, Radiology. Some problems in Radiology that were presented in the journal overlapped with concepts under Differential diagnosis and Lesion. Specifically, studies on Preferred walking speed are prevalent in the Physical medicine and rehabilitation works discussed.
The main points discussed in the most cited papers deal with Spinal cord injury, Rehabilitation, Physical therapy, Physical medicine and rehabilitation and Cohort. The journal publications help close the divide between two different fields of study: Spinal cord injury and Feeling. In addition to Physical therapy research, the journal publications aim to explore topics under Injury prevention, Quality of life and Motor skill.
The aim of the journal is to expand the discussion of research in Spinal cord injury, Rehabilitation, Surgery, Spinal cord and Radiology. Topics in Spinal cord injury were tackled in line with various other fields like Anesthesia, Physical therapy, Internal medicine and Physical medicine and rehabilitation. Spinal cord series and cases explores research in Medical record and overlapping concepts in Cervical spinal cord injury to expand the discourse in Rehabilitation.
Decompression, Weakness and Ossification research are fields of study within Surgery but they also intertwine with concepts in Arthrodesis. The study of Cord and how it intertwines with concepts under Cervical cord compression were explored in the presented Spinal cord research. The Radiology research presented in it also delves into studies in intersecting subjects like
A key indicator for each journal is its effectiveness in reaching other researchers with the papers published at that venue.
The chart below presents the interquartile range (first quartile 25%, median 50% and third quartile 75%) of the number of citations of articles over time.
The top authors publishing in Spinal cord series and cases (based on the number of publications) are:
The overall trend for top authors publishing in this journal is outlined below. The chart shows the number of publications at each edition of the journal for top authors.
Only papers with recognized affiliations are considered
The top affiliations publishing in Spinal cord series and cases (based on the number of publications) are:
The overall trend for top affiliations publishing in this journal is outlined below. The chart shows the number of publications at each edition of the journal for top affiliations.
The publication chance index shows the ratio of articles published by the best research institutions in the journal edition to all articles published within that journal. The best research institutions were selected based on the largest number of articles published during all editions of the journal.
The chart below presents the percentage ratio of articles from top institutions (based on their ranking of total papers).Top affiliations were grouped by their rank into the following tiers: top 1-10, top 11-20, top 21-50, and top 51+. Only articles with a recognized affiliation are considered.
During the most recent 2021 edition, 9.78% of publications had an unrecognized affiliation. Out of the publications with recognized affiliations, 27.71% were posted by at least one author from the top 10 institutions publishing in the journal. Another 4.82% included authors affiliated with research institutions from the top 11-20 affiliations. Institutions from the 21-50 range included 15.66% of all publications and 51.81% were from other institutions.
A very common phenomenon observed among researchers publishing scientific articles is the intentional selection of journals they have already attended in the past. In particular, it is worth analyzing the case when the authors participate in the same journal from year to year.
The Returning Authors Index presented below illustrates the ratio of authors who participated in both a given as well as the previous edition of the journal in relation to all participants in a given year.
The graph below shows the Returning Institution Index, illustrating the ratio of institutions that participated in both a given and the previous edition of the conference in relation to all affiliations present in a given year.
Our experience to innovation index was created to show a cross-section of the experience level of authors publishing in a journal. The index includes the authors publishing at the last edition of a journal, grouped by total number of publications throughout their academic career (P) and the total number of citations of these publications ever received (C).
The group intervals were selected empirically to best show the diversity of the authors' experiences, their labels were selected as a convenience, not as judgment. The authors were divided into the following groups:
The chart below illustrates experience levels of first authors in cases of publications with multiple authors.
In the field of spinal cord research, numerous career paths converge, such as physical therapy, internal medicine, anesthesia, and more. One such aligned profession is that of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). An SLP specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders, cognition, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders. Individuals facing spinal cord injuries often have difficulty with swallowing and speaking due to weakened muscles which fall within an SLP's area of expertise. Becoming an SLP requires extensive education and practical training. Typically, the pathway includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field, followed by a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. After the educational requirements, prospective SLPs must complete a postgraduate fellowship and then pass the Praxis examination in Speech-Language Pathology. The career path of an SLP is highly rewarding. Apart from improving patients' quality of life, there are varied opportunities for research and continued learning. SLPs have a significant roll in spinal cord research, contributing their unique perspective and expertise. State licensure for SLP is also required in most U.S states. For example, meeting the wisconsin slp license requirements includes graduation from an accredited educational program and passage of a national examination. Wisconsin also requires 400 hours of supervised clinical experience in the field under direct supervision. In conclusion, the integration of SLPs in spinal cord research work exemplifies the interdisciplinary approach needed for comprehensive health care. The role of an SLP should not be underestimated in the contribution towards the advances in spinal cord research.

(2020)For those interested in studying Medicine in the USA, exploring related online degrees can open up diverse career pathways in healthcare. Many students begin with online medical assistant programs that accept financial aid, providing a cost-effective way to enter the medical field quickly and gain practical skills.
Advancing from a medical assistant role to a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is another popular pathway. Programs like the ma to lpn courses offer a streamlined approach, allowing students to build on existing experience and obtain nursing credentials online.
For those aiming at more advanced medical roles, an understanding of biological sciences is crucial. Many students choose online biology programs to strengthen their foundation before entering medical school or research careers.
Similarly, pursuing an asn online degree can prepare learners for registered nursing roles, combining flexibility with comprehensive training that meets industry standards.
Each of these educational options supports different goals within healthcare, allowing students to tailor their learning pathways based on career aspirations, time commitments, and financial considerations.
