Overview
Babol Noshirvani University of Technology
Babol Noshirvani University of Technology (BNUT) is an independent public research university in Iran. It was established in 1970 by Seyed Hossein Falla Noshirvani – an Iranian philanthropist. BNUT is one of the oldest universities in the country and is the only technological university in northern Iran. It is consistently on top among the universities in the country.
Babol Noshirvani University of Technology Key Statistics
BNUT has more than 6,000 students, the majority (66%) of which are male. It also houses nearly 200 faculty members with a student-staff ratio of 24 students per staff. The university has six faculties that include 24 departments offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degree programs.
The other Babol Noshirvani University of Technology key statistics is its modern academic library that covers a total of 1,500 square meters. The library is divided into three floors with three rooms and four sections. It has 35,000 volumes of Persian printed books and 15,000 volumes of English printed books, including approximately 2,300 thesis reports.
The university also publishes its own peer-reviewed journals, namely, the Iranian Journal of Energy and Environment and the Journal of Soft Computing and Information Technology. To date, BNUT has produced over 3,200 papers and academic works listed on major academic databases.
Babol Noshirvani University of Technology Research
Academic research is the strongest advantage of BNUT and is known as an “influential center” in this field. This is one of the reasons why the university is consistently on top among the universities in Iran.
BNUT’s top three research fields are materials science, nanofluid, and mechanics. Its researchers have published in prestigious journals such as the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, the Journal of Molecular Liquids, and the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry.
Its researchers had been invited to attend and/or present papers at prestigious conferences like the International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory, The Power Electronics, Drive Systems & Technologies Conference, International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems, and the International Conference on Knowledge-based Engineering and Innovation.
The most cited Babol Noshirvani University of Technology research output is Sheikholeslami’s (2019) article published in the Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering (CMAME) entitled, “New computational approach for exergy and entropy analysis of nanofluid under the impact of Lorentz force through a porous media.” It received a total of 571 citations to date. The second most cited BNUT publication is another research output from Sheikholeslami (2019), “Numerical approach for MHD AI203-water nanofluid transportation inside a permeable medium using innovative computer method” also published in CMAME. A total of 471 articles, books, and other publications cited this scholarly output.
The third most cited publication from Babol Noshirvani University of Technology is an article by Sheikholeslami et al. (2019) in the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, “Heat transfer behavior of nanoparticle enhanced PCM solidification through an enclosure with V-shaped fins.” It has generated a total of 323 citations.
In 2019, the university’s Nanotechnology Research Institute became the center of excellence in nanotechnology research in Iran.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 30 within the area of
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
contact us.
