Overview

Częstochowa University of Technology is Poland’s largest and oldest state university. It has full academic rights and is the only university in the region with the ability to confer both the title of doctor and university professor (habilitated doctor). Known for its reputation as a modern and well-equipped institution, Czestochowa consistently ranks among the top universities in the country.

Established in 1949, Częstochowa University of Technology was formerly known as School of Engineering (Szkoła Inżynierska), with independent scientific researchers serving as the university’s academic teachers. In 1955, the university took on its current name and was transformed into the current modern institution. At present, it is divided into six faculties: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Processing and Material Engineering and Applied Physics, Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and Faculty of Management.

Geographically situated in the southern part of Poland, the university provides a vibrant city life to its students, staff, and faculty. It also boasts of state-of-the-art student facilities, laboratories, and lecture rooms. The university also serves as home to numerous student organizations, science clubs, and research groups.

Serving over 12,000 students, the university offers a wide range of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in various study areas. Each course is accredited by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations in Brussels, a federation of national engineering associations from 32 European Higher Education Area countries. This accreditation marks the university as one of the best engineering institutions in the country, strengthening the position of university graduates in the global job market.

Częstochowa University of Technology is also an active participant in the Erasmus Plus project, a student exchange program for European Union countries. With the university’s strong commitment to the promotion of cultural, social, and academic exchanges, it offers a number of specialized programs for international students. It also has long-standing partnerships with key institutions from all over the world, providing an excellent quality of teaching and research, as well as a stimulating invaluable student experience.

Furthermore, the university is involved in a number of global academic initiatives and research projects. It plays an active role in the Seventh Framework Programme, a funding program that supports the development of new concepts in space technologies and space transportation. The university is also part of numerous Norweigian Financial Mechanism projects, a form of non-repayable foreign aid granted to European Union member states.
