Data Sources and Bibliometric Collection
The 5th edition of the Research.com Best Business and Management Scientists in Slovenia Ranking is grounded in comprehensive and authoritative bibliometric data primarily sourced from OpenAlex and CrossRef, alongside multiple additional reputable data repositories. The bibliometric data utilized for deriving the citation-based metrics were meticulously collected on January 12, 2026, ensuring the ranking reflects the most current and accurate scholarly impact indicators available at the time. Each scientist's position within this ranking is determined by their Discipline H-index, or D-index, a refined metric that accounts exclusively for publications and citations germane to the examined discipline of Business and Management. This tailored approach allows for precise assessment of research impact within the specialist domain.
Scope of Research and Qualification Criteria
The ranking methodology entailed an extensive review of 279,971 scientist profiles aggregated from diverse bibliometric databases encompassing all academic disciplines. Specifically, from this wide pool, 3 scientists specializing in Business and Management in Slovenia were identified for evaluation. To qualify for inclusion in this ranking, a scientist was required to have a minimum D-index of 30, with the majority of their tier publications situated within the Business and Management discipline. Additionally, recognized awards and notable achievements in the field were factored into the comprehensive qualification review.
The determination of the D-index threshold is dynamically calibrated as increments of 10, aligned with the estimated population size of active scholars within each discipline. This methodology ensures that the ranking consistently reflects the top 1% of leading experts. Furthermore, to maintain a robust disciplinary focus, a scientist's general H-index and D-index had to exhibit no more than a 30% discrepancy, ensuring relevance and concentration within the specified research area.
Verification and Validation Practices
Recognizing the inherent limitations of raw bibliometric data as sole evaluative instruments, the Research.com team has implemented thorough manual verification and cross-correlation procedures for all scientist profiles. These efforts involve corroborating publication records against a broad spectrum of trustworthy sources to safeguard accuracy and integrity. Although not a direct determinant of ranking position, the quantity of papers published in prominent journals and leading conference proceedings serves as a valuable secondary indicator of a scientist's scholarly contribution within Business and Management.
The final ranking positions were established on the basis of each researcher’s verified D-index calculated from authoritative data repositories—OpenAlex and CrossRef—renowned as the most prominent bibliometric databases accessible to the global research community.
