Moreover, a majority of the researcher’s top-tier publications needed to be within the domain of Physics, reflecting a genuine focus in the discipline. Additionally, scientists’ awards and notable achievements specifically related to Physics were factored into the selection process, providing qualitative context beyond bibliometric measures.
The threshold for D-index consideration is dynamically set in increments of 10, calibrated against the total estimated number of scholars within each discipline. This calibration guarantees that the top 1% of leading scholars are incorporated into the list, upholding the rigor and exclusivity of the ranking. To ensure disciplinary consistency, candidates must demonstrate a proximity of no more than 30% between their general H-index and their physics-specific D-index, affirming that their primary impact lies within the discipline.

The Research.com team recognizes that raw bibliometric data, while indispensable, cannot singularly encapsulate the full scope of a scholar’s contribution. Consequently, all scientist profiles underwent manual verification and were cross-checked against publications in a wide range of trustworthy sources to authenticate data accuracy and relevancy.
