For the compilation of this ranking, a total of 279,971 scientist profiles were reviewed across all scientific disciplines, with focus narrowed to 1,095 scientists specifically identified in the field of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. To qualify for consideration in the ranking, a scientist was required to have a minimum D-index of 30.
