Best Mathematics Scientists in Turkey

The 2nd edition of Research.com ranking of the best scholars in the arena of Mathematics is based on data combined from a wide range of data sources including OpenAlex and CrossRef. The bibliometric data for devising the citation-based metrics were collected on 21-12-2022. Position in the ranking is based on a researcher’s D-index (Discipline H-index), which only includes publications and citation values for an examined discipline.

The focus of our Mathematics research
Research.com’s best scholars ranking is a trustworthy account of leading scholars from the discipline of Mathematics, based on a detailed study of 166,880 researchers identified from various bibliometric data sources. For the discipline of Mathematics, more than 6262 researchers were examined.

What is D-index inclusion threshold for Mathematics
The D-index threshold for including a scientist to be considered is placed at 30 if most of their publications are in the area of Mathematics. The acceptance requirements for scholars to be considered into the ranking of top scientists are based on the D-index, proportion of the contributions made within the specific discipline as well as the awards and achievements of the researchers. The D-index threshold for listing top scholars is set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of scientists estimated for each scientific field whilst guaranteeing that the top 1% of best researchers are added into the ranking. We estimate a proximity of 30% or less between a scholar’s general H-index and their D-index.

Other verification rules
Because our leading aim is to make sure that only credible scientists are included in the ranking we realize that raw data are never supposed to be a complete measure to quantify the output of scientists. For that reason we manually inspect each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a broad range of credible sources. Although it’s not a factor contributing to a scholar’s position in the ranking, the number of documents published in well-known journals and conference proceedings should constitute a valuable secondary indication of their contribution to research in a specific area of science. Position in the ranking is established using every researcher’s D-index with the help of information collected from OpenAlex and CrossRef, which are the most prominent and well-established bibliometric databases of this type accessible to the scientific community. A thorough overview of our research policy can be found on our methodology page.

Our goal
Our aim is to inspire scholars, businessmen and politicians around the world to explore where prominent experts are heading and to give a way for the whole research community to find out who the leading experts in specific fields of research, in various countries, or even within research institutions are.
