The 5th edition of the Research.com Best Genetics Scientists in Czechia Ranking was compiled using a comprehensive set of data sources, primarily drawing from OpenAlex and CrossRef alongside multiple other reputable bibliometric databases. These sources collectively provide extensive coverage of publication and citation records that form the foundation for our analysis. Bibliometric data utilized to generate the citation-based metrics were systematically collected on January 12, 2026, ensuring up-to-date and accurate representation of research impact. A scientist’s position within the ranking is determined by their D-index (Discipline H-index), a refined metric that considers only papers and citation counts specific to the examined discipline, thereby providing an insightful evaluation of disciplinary influence.
Scope of Research and Ranking Criteria
In developing this ranking, we examined 187,823 scientist profiles across all disciplines and, more specifically, identified 9 scientists in the field of Genetics in Czechia. To qualify for inclusion, candidates were required to have a minimum D-index of 40, ensuring that only highly impactful researchers are considered. Additionally, the majority of a qualifying scientist’s tier publications needed to be rooted firmly within the domain of Genetics. Beyond bibliometric thresholds, awards and recognized achievements in Genetics were also factored into assessing the candidate’s stature in the field.
The threshold for the D-index is incrementally set by tens, corresponding to the estimated total population of scholars in each discipline. This methodology is designed to guarantee that the ranking consistently incorporates the top 1% of leading scholars in their respective fields. Furthermore, to maintain a strong alignment between general research influence and discipline-specific contribution, only scientists whose general H-index differs from their D-index by 30% or less were considered, thereby ensuring disciplinary focus and research quality.

Recognizing that raw bibliometric data cannot serve as an unequivocal measure of scholarly output, our team has implemented thorough manual verification procedures. Each scientist’s profile underwent meticulous cross-correlation with publication records from a broad array of trustworthy sources to ascertain accuracy and validity. While the number of papers published in prominent journals and conferences does not directly influence the ranking position, it is acknowledged as a valuable secondary indicator of a researcher’s contribution to their specific scientific area.
