The scope of our Business and Management research
Research.com’s best universities ranking is a trustworthy account of
leading scientists from the area of Business and Management,
based on a meticulous examination of
166,880 scientists determined from multiple
bibliometric data sources. For the discipline of Business and Management, more than
7819 scholars were investigated.
What is D-index approval threshold for Business and Management
The D-index threshold for approving a scientist to be
examined is set to 30 if
most of their publications are in the area of Business and Management. The
inclusion factors for scientists to be
considered into the ranking of top scholars are based on the D-index,
proportion of the publications made within the specific
field of study as well as the awards and achievements of the
researchers. The D-index threshold for considering best
researchers is set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of
scholars estimated for each
discipline whilst ensuring that the top 1% of
best scientists are considered into the ranking.
We estimate a proximity of 30% or less between a scientist’s
general H-index and their D-index.
Other verification rules
Since our primary goal is to make sure that only
genuine scientists are included in
our ranking we realize that metrics are never
supposed to be an absolute measure to evaluate the
work of researchers. Because of that
we manually inspect each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a
wide range of credible sources. Even though it’s not a
metric defining a scholar’s position in
our ranking, the amount of documents published in
prominent journals and conference proceedings should constitute a
reliable secondary signal of their contribution to research in a
given field of study. Position in the ranking is
based on every scientist’s D-index
using data gathered from OpenAlex and
CrossRef, which are the most credible and well-established bibliometric
databases of this type available to the scientific community. A
detailed explanation of our research process
can be found on our
methodology page.
Our goal
Our aim is to motivate scientists,
companies and administrative bodies
worldwide to investigate where prominent experts are heading
and to give an opportunity for the entire research community to
find out who the leading experts in specific
fields of research, in different countries, or even within research
institutions are.
