The position of each journal in this list is determined by Research.com's proprietary bibliometric score. This score is uniquely calculated, taking into account the estimated h-index and the number of recognized leading scientists who have endorsed each journal over the past three years. The ranking also integrates Impact Score values, with all data current as of 2024-11-27.

To ensure the highest level of accuracy and credibility, the ranking process involved the examination of more than 318 Physics journals. These journals were selected following a rigorous selection protocol and a thorough review of more than 214,495 scientific documents published in the last three years. This expansive assessment also considered evaluations from 27,704 distinguished and respected scientists, further enhancing the depth and validity of the ranking analysis.
