The journal aims to foster the development of research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Astrobiology, Mars Exploration Program and Asteroid. Icarus tackles issues in Astronomy, particularly in the topics of Solar System, Planet, Jupiter, Photometry (optics) and Spectral line. Planet research is concerned with Terrestrial planet in particular.
In addition to Astrophysics research, the journal aims to explore topics under Brightness and Wavelength. Impact crater, Meteorite and Regolith studies are all carried out as a component of the study in Astrobiology presented. Some problems in Impact crater that were presented in Icarus overlapped with concepts under Ejecta and Geochemistry.
