Memorial University of Newfoundland (commonly known as Memorial or MUN) is a comprehensive, publicly funded university established in 1925 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Founded as a living memorial to Newfoundlanders who lost their lives in active service during the First World War, it has since grown to become one of Atlantic Canada’s largest universities. With over 19,000 students and more than 100,000 alumni worldwide, Memorial operates across multiple campuses: St. John’s, Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook, and the Marine Institute, with international sites in Harlow, England.
