Overview
The Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is also known colloquially as Dàgōng in Chinese. This public research university was formerly named the Dalian Institute of Technology, an offshoot of its predecessor, Dalian University, which was founded in 1949. Since that time, it has positioned itself as a leading university when it comes to science and engineering teaching and research. It only changed to its current name in 1988.
DUT is known for being a Double First-Rate institution in the country and is also a member of the Big Four Institutes of Technology. This distinction is shared with three other institutions: the South China Institute of Technology, Nanjing Institute of Technology, and Huazhong Institute of Technology. Moreover, DUT is highly touted for having 11 current Chinese Academies of Engineering and of Science as full-time members as faculty. Also, as one of the key universities in the country, it is being directly overseen by the Ministry of Education.
Since its inception, the university has gained 47 national awards for its scientific and technological achievements.
Aside from its high specialization in science and engineering, the university is also known for its highly-ranked programs in management and economics. These programs, including its specialties, are continuously ranked among the top universities in China.
Aside from offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, DUT also provides life-long learning opportunities to professionals and older adults. Both degree and non-degree online and distance-learning courses are also on offer. Face-to-face courses are available in DUT’s three campuses in Lingshui, Panjin, and the Development Zone.
The university runs around 30 schools and departments. These include the School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Innovative Experiment, School of Computer Science and Technology, and the School of Naval Architecture, among many others. These schools offer courses for a wide range of study areas through their respective departments. Furthermore, interdisciplinary approaches in both learning and research are espoused by the DUT.
As a top Ministry of Education-ran institution, DUT operates three key national laboratories for Fine Chemical Engineering, Coastal and Offshore Engineering, and the Structural Analysis of Industry Equipment. It also has two national-level engineering research organizations hosted to support national-local joint e-government simulation and shipbuilding research. Furthermore, it runs centers for public innovation and technology transfer, sparking business innovations from students, faculty, researchers, and community stakeholders.
The university comes with student resource facilities, including a library that houses more than 3.6 million books and provides access to more than 58,000 foreign and Chinese e-journals.

D-index
D-index (Discipline H-index) only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in
contrast to General H-index which accounts for publications across all disciplines.
Our research was coordinated by Imed Bouchrika, PhD, a computer scientist with a well-established record
of collaboration on a number of international research projects with different partners from the academic
community. His role was to make sure all data remained unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.
We list only scientists having D-Index >= 40 within the area of
Chemistry. If you or other scholars are not listed, we appreciate if you can
