RMU's annual cost depends on the degree, credit load, and required in-person attendance. As a historical benchmark, its 2024-25 reported graduate tuition for full-time students was $19,095, with $1,825 in required fees, for a combined $20,920 before living and other expenses. The reported figures were the same for in-state and out-of-state graduate students. These are reporting-year figures, not a quote for a later entering class.
An individual budget may also need to cover housing, food, books, equipment, background checks, immunizations, transportation, and travel to clinical sites. Some costs arise at particular stages of a program rather than evenly each term. Obtain the current program's tuition schedule and cost-of-attendance estimate, and ask which clinical expenses are included.
Eligible students may be able to use federal student loans and applicable scholarships or military education benefits. Graduate students should not assume that undergraduate grant programs apply to them. Financial-aid offers reduce or finance different parts of the bill: a scholarship does not require repayment, while a loan generally does. The amount a student ultimately pays or borrows depends on individual eligibility and expenses.
Paid work during an RMU program may be possible, but its practicality depends heavily on class, lab, and clinical schedules. Federal Work-Study, when offered to an eligible student, is a financial-aid-supported employment arrangement - not a grant paid simply for enrolling and not a guarantee of a job.
Students considering employment should ask the financial-aid office whether their program and aid package permit Federal Work-Study, how positions are posted, and whether work can continue during full-time placements. Ordinary part-time jobs are separate from Work-Study; required clinical experiences may be unpaid and should not be counted as wages without explicit confirmation.
For career planning, a program's clinical-placement process and professional contacts may matter more than a general campus job board. Ask who arranges placements, what career advising is available, and whether the program offers documented support with résumés, interviews, or professional networking. Those services should be distinguished from verified employment outcomes.
