For 2024-25, CGES reported the same full-time tuition for in-state and out-of-state students. Published tuition and required fees are a starting point, not a complete annual budget.
Those amounts do not include books, supplies, transportation, personal expenses, or housing and meals. A student attending an extended location may face a different commuting budget from one studying primarily online. For a usable total, compare the current program-specific cost-of-attendance estimate with an individual financial aid offer; grants reduce the amount a student must fund, while loans must generally be repaid.
In 2024-25 reporting, 90% of students received financial aid and 21% had student loans. Those participation rates do not indicate what any particular applicant will receive. Students seeking federal aid generally begin with the FAFSA and should ask the financial aid office which state, institutional, military, or program-specific assistance applies to their enrollment pattern.
Student employment is different from a tuition discount: wages are earned through hours worked. Federal Work-Study, when included in an eligible student's aid offer, provides access to qualifying jobs but does not pay the entire award automatically or guarantee placement in a particular position.
CGES students should ask the financial aid office whether Work-Study applies to their program and location, then check how available jobs are posted. That matters for online students and those at partner sites, whose practical access to Fayette-based jobs may differ. Ordinary part-time employment and internships can also provide income or experience, but they are not the same as a Federal Work-Study award.
