The 1st edition of Research.com ranking of the best universities in Russia is based on metrics collected from Microsoft Academic Graph on 06-12-2021. Position in our world university ranking is based on a sum of H-index values of all leading scientists affiliated with a given university. A leading scientist is a researcher with a D-index (discipline H-index) higher than a predetermined threshold (typically 30 or 40) for their scientific disciplines. In comparison to other world university rankings our objevtive is to focus predominantly on scientific accomplishments of top scientists associated with each institution. We hope to inspire scholars, business-owners, and institutions across the world to find out where leading science authorities are heading and to provide an opportunity for the whole scientific community to determine who the leading authorities in popular fields of research, in particular countries, or even within scientific institutions are.
The ranking process involved a detailed examination of 166,880 researchers’ profiles from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph. Over 132,836 profiles were examined. Scientists from more than 2,814 institutions and affiliations were analyzed.
