SIT's clearest graduate milestone is the completion and recognition of a degree, but applicants should not assume that a particular annual festival or traditional campus event is part of every student's experience. Program calendars and locations vary.
Academic talks, cohort gatherings, and presentations of field-based work can be more relevant to graduate students than undergraduate-style homecoming activities. Students for whom an in-person commencement or other gathering matters should check that event's current location, schedule, and eligibility for their specific graduating cohort.
Housing and meals should be planned around the actual attendance requirements of an SIT Graduate Institute program. A Brattleboro institutional address does not establish that a student will receive a residence-hall place, meal plan, or year-round access to campus dining.
Students should identify every required in-person period and find out whether the program arranges lodging, recommends local options, or expects students to book independently. Those details matter when comparing a program's tuition with its full cost: short stays, overseas placements, and ordinary housing at a student's home location may create very different budgets.
