PTSA identifies the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) as its institutional accrediting body. ABHE accreditation concerns institutional educational standards; it is not the same as a separate professional accreditation for an individual counseling, social work, or other specialized program.
Accreditation is relevant to eligibility for federal student aid, but an individual student must still meet aid rules, and an individual program's eligibility should be checked separately. It also does not guarantee that another college will accept transfer credits or that a state licensing board will recognize a degree. Applicants with either goal should confirm PTSA's current status in ABHE's institutional directory and obtain a written answer from the receiving college or licensing authority before relying on the credential for that purpose.
PTSA reports an open-admission policy, which generally means it does not use a competitive acceptance-rate threshold for eligible applicants. It does not mean that an application is unnecessary or that every applicant automatically qualifies for every degree.
Undergraduate applicants should identify the credential they are seeking and confirm the school's current requirements for prior education and transcripts. Graduate applicants should check the prerequisite degree and any program-specific academic or ministry requirements. International applicants should verify English-language documentation, transcript evaluation, and immigration-related procedures where applicable. The current application instructions, rather than an assumed SAT, ACT, GPA, recommendation, or essay rule, should govern what each applicant submits.
PTSA reports accepting dual credit, but it does not report awarding credit for AP examinations or life experience. Acceptance of a particular dual-credit course still depends on an evaluation of the course and its fit with the intended degree.
PTSA's reported application fee is $100. Applicants should confirm the current amount and their applicant category before paying, because an application fee is distinct from tuition, an enrollment deposit, and other charges.
Anyone who may qualify for a waiver should ask admissions about eligibility and the request procedure before submitting payment. A waiver should not be assumed to apply to undergraduate, graduate, international, and returning applicants in the same way.
Students should not assume that PTSA operates an Army, Air Force, or Navy ROTC unit on its Santa Fe Springs campus. Anyone seeking officer training should first establish whether their intended PTSA program permits participation through a nearby host institution and whether that host accepts PTSA students for cross-enrollment.
ROTC participation, an ROTC scholarship, and a military education benefit are different arrangements. Eligibility, course schedules, physical and citizenship requirements, and potential service obligations depend on the branch and host program; a scholarship should not be included in an enrollment budget without an actual award.
Transfer admission and transfer-credit acceptance are separate decisions at PTSA. A student may be eligible to apply without every previously completed course counting toward the new degree.
Prospective transfers should provide official transcripts from each prior college and request a written, program-specific credit evaluation. The useful questions are which courses meet major requirements, which count only as electives, and how many credits must be completed through PTSA. Students transferring into a ministry or professionally oriented program should also ask whether supervised work or specialized courses must be taken again. PTSA reports accepting dual credit, but applicants should not treat that policy as a blanket promise to accept all prior college coursework.
Students considering international study through PTSA should establish whether a specific opportunity is operated by the institution, offered by a partner, or arranged independently. Those arrangements can have different academic and financial consequences.
Before paying a program deposit, a student should obtain approval for the courses that will count toward the PTSA degree and confirm how tuition, travel costs, aid eligibility, and any visa requirements will be handled. PTSA's enrollment of students from other countries does not, by itself, indicate that it operates a study-abroad program.
