Standard four-year and six-year undergraduate graduation rates are a poor measure of Fielding's outcomes because it is a graduate institution. Those federal measures follow specified groups of first-time undergraduate students, not adults entering master's and doctoral programs.
For a meaningful completion comparison, prospective students should ask the individual program for recent cohort outcomes: the share completing the degree, typical time to completion, and attrition at each stage. In a doctoral program, it is especially useful to distinguish completion of coursework from completion of a dissertation, internship, or other final requirement. Any rate should be read alongside its cohort definition and follow-up period.
Earnings after a Fielding degree depend heavily on the credential, occupation, prior experience, location, and whether a graduate enters a licensed profession. A single university-wide salary figure would obscure those differences and should not be treated as a forecast of an applicant's income.
When comparing earnings statistics, check whether they measure a mean or median, how long after completion they were recorded, and whether they cover graduates from the same program. Federal earnings measures may include only students with qualifying records and may exclude self-employed workers or small cohorts. For a psychology applicant, licensure outcomes and the cost and duration of supervised training may be as consequential as an earnings figure; for an employed adult learner, the relevant comparison may be career progression rather than a first job after graduation.
