For 2024-25, IPEDS reports $10,207 in graduate tuition and $481 in required graduate fees for full-time students, with the same reported amounts for in-state and out-of-state students. Together, those published charges total $10,688 for that reporting year; they are not a complete cost of attendance or a quote for a future term.
Students also need to budget for housing, food, transportation, books, supplies, and any program-specific clinical expenses. A per-credit figure should not be multiplied into an annual estimate without checking the actual course load and billing rules. The most useful individualized comparison is a current term-by-term estimate from DULA, followed by the student's own living budget and any financial assistance for which they qualify.
Student employment and Federal Work-Study are different ways of working while enrolled. Federal Work-Study, when offered to an eligible student, is need-based financial aid earned through an approved job; it is not money automatically deducted from tuition or paid simply for receiving an award.
Applicants interested in working should ask DULA's financial-aid office whether their program and enrollment status permit Federal Work-Study and how approved positions are filled. They should separately ask about ordinary campus jobs, including whether any clinical or administrative roles are paid. A clinical placement or internship may be required academic training rather than employment, so its hours and compensation should be confirmed before relying on it for living expenses.
