Conventional four- and six-year undergraduate graduation rates are not useful measures of PCOM's outcomes because the institution primarily enrolls graduate and professional students. The standard federal undergraduate cohort behind those rates does not represent a typical DO, pharmacy, psychology, or master's student.
To evaluate completion, applicants should seek results for their intended program and entry cohort: how many students completed on time or within a longer period, how many left or repeated coursework, and, for licensed professions, the relevant examination or placement results. Those measures answer different questions. A residency match rate, for instance, is not the same as a graduation rate and should be read with its stated cohort and reporting year.
There is no single earnings figure that would meaningfully describe all PCOM students after graduation. A newly qualified physician, pharmacist, psychologist, physician assistant, and biomedical-sciences graduate can enter different training stages and labor markets.
Timing is especially important for DO applicants. Many graduates enter residency after medical school, so income measured one year after the degree would typically reflect a training period rather than later physician earnings. Earnings data can also omit people without matched records or combine graduates working in different places and roles. Applicants comparing programs should look for a clearly labeled median or other stated measure, its graduation cohort, its measurement date, and whether additional residency or licensure is required.
