Standard four- and six-year freshman graduation rates are a poor fit for evaluating NEOMED. Those federal measures follow first-time undergraduates, whereas NEOMED's principal degrees enroll students after substantial prior college study.
Applicants will get a more relevant view by examining outcomes for the particular program: how many students complete its curriculum, how long completion takes and what happens at required licensing or postgraduate-training stages. For medicine, residency placement is a separate outcome from graduation. For pharmacy and dentistry, graduation and licensure examination results likewise answer different questions. Compare figures from the same entering cohorts and reporting periods rather than treating a university-wide rate as a measure of every professional degree.
Potential earnings after NEOMED depend heavily on the credential and the stage of a graduate's career. A newly graduated physician entering residency, for example, is in a different earnings position from an established physician; pharmacists, dentists and graduates of research-focused programs follow different paths again.
When comparing earnings figures, check whether they measure a median or an average, how long after completion they were collected, which graduates were included and whether the figure reflects residency training. Salary alone also omits educational debt, additional training time, location and specialty. Program-specific outcomes and expected borrowing provide a more useful comparison than a single institution-wide income figure.
