Epic identifies the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, commonly called TRACS, as its institutional accreditor. Applicants should check the current TRACS institutional directory for Epic's status and the scope of accreditation at the time they apply.
Institutional accreditation concerns the college as a whole; it does not automatically provide professional or programmatic accreditation for every degree. It can matter for financial-aid eligibility and how other schools review transfer credit, but neither federal aid nor transfer acceptance follows from accreditation alone. Students pursuing counseling, teaching, chaplaincy, or another regulated role should check that role's separate education and licensing requirements before choosing a program.
Epic reports an open-admission policy for undergraduate applicants. Open admission generally means the school does not use a selective acceptance process comparable to that of many four-year colleges; it does not remove application, documentation, or program requirements.
Applicants should confirm the current application form and the records required for their category, particularly if they have attended another college or are applying for graduate study. They should also check the current catalog for any minimum academic credentials, faith-related statements, recommendations, English-language requirements, and program-specific conditions. No SAT or ACT score threshold should be assumed from the open-admission designation.
Epic reports accepting Advanced Placement credit and credit for life experience, but not dual credit. Because admission and the award of academic credit are separate decisions, applicants should request a written evaluation before relying on prior learning to shorten a degree.
The reported application fee is $65. Applicants should verify the amount shown in Epic's current application before paying, especially if they are applying to a graduate program or through a different application route.
Those who need a fee waiver should ask admissions whether they qualify and whether approval must be obtained before submitting the application. An application fee is distinct from tuition, course fees, and any deposit charged after admission.
Students should not assume Epic operates an Army, Air Force, or Navy ROTC unit. Anyone hoping to combine an Epic degree with ROTC should establish whether a nearby host institution permits cross-enrollment for Epic students before making enrollment plans.
ROTC participation is governed by the host program and the relevant military branch. Scholarship eligibility, course schedules, physical standards, and any service obligation require separate review; admission to Epic would not itself confer a place in ROTC.
Epic enrolls transfer students: the 2024-25 enrollment figures record six incoming degree- or certificate-seeking undergraduate transfers. Admission as a transfer student and acceptance of individual courses toward a degree are separate decisions.
A prospective transfer should be ready to provide official records of prior college work and request a course-by-course evaluation against the intended Epic program. Before committing, ask the registrar which credits satisfy specific requirements, whether there is a minimum grade or residency requirement, and whether credit from a particular institution or examination will be accepted. Obtain the resulting degree plan in writing; a total number of accepted credits does not show how many courses remain.
Students interested in international study should confirm whether their Epic program currently permits an approved overseas course, ministry placement, or outside study-abroad program. An international experience should not be treated as degree credit without advance academic approval.
Before paying a provider or arranging travel, ask the academic office who awards the credit, how it applies to degree requirements, and whether the experience affects financial-aid eligibility. A short-term ministry trip and a semester of credit-bearing study are not interchangeable.
