UTSA maintains a university police department and emergency-response procedures for its campuses. Students can report an immediate emergency through 911 and should learn the campus-specific reporting and notification procedures used at the locations where they study.
The university publishes an annual security report under federal campus-safety rules. That report is the appropriate place to examine disclosed crime statistics, reporting definitions, and safety policies; a single statistic cannot capture every risk or a student's individual experience. UTSA also provides channels for reporting sexual misconduct and seeking support. Students who divide their time between Main, Downtown, and health-related locations should check which office and emergency instructions apply at each site.
