UT Dallas's recurring campus events include Weeks of Welcome, Springapalooza and International Week. They offer different ways for students to connect with campus outside regular classes.
Weeks of Welcome brings activities around the start of a term, when new and returning students are finding organizations, services and social opportunities. Springapalooza is a spring student-life celebration. International Week features programming focused on cultures and international engagement.
Schedules and individual activities can change each year. For a prospective student, these events illustrate the range of programming available, but attendance is optional and no single festival represents the whole campus experience.
UT Dallas offers university-operated undergraduate housing, including residence-hall and apartment-style options. Housing is available, but its availability does not mean every applicant receives a preferred space or building.
First-year students should examine the current residence-hall options, application steps, deadlines and any applicable eligibility rules. Returning students and other eligible residents may have different apartment options and selection procedures. The university reports coeducational housing and internet access in its housing facilities. First-year students are permitted to register or park a car on campus, subject to parking rules and charges.
Campus dining includes meal-plan arrangements and places to eat on or near campus. Whether a meal plan is required can depend on the housing assignment, so students should compare the contract terms - not just the advertised room rate - before selecting housing. Off-campus renters should budget separately for transportation, utilities and food, and should not assume that living away from campus will necessarily cost less.
