Students should distinguish recurring SCIT activities from assumptions about traditional college celebrations such as homecoming. An academic demonstration, employer visit or graduation ceremony can offer a way to connect with classmates, but its availability in a given term should be confirmed through the current campus calendar.
For a prospective student, the most useful questions are whether program showcases, career events or community activities occur regularly, who may attend and whether they fit an evening or commuting schedule. A single advertised event does not necessarily constitute a longstanding campus tradition.
SCIT does not provide college-owned or college-operated undergraduate housing. Students should plan for an independent living arrangement and should not expect a first-year residence-hall placement or an institution-provided housing package.
Housing and food should be budgeted separately from published tuition and required fees. A student considering a move to Anaheim should compare lease terms, deposits, utilities, travel time and access to groceries or meals near their class schedule. Before counting on a campus meal plan or a particular dining facility, ask SCIT what food options are currently available to students.
