Oregon State's published price depends heavily on residency, enrollment level and living arrangement. In the 2025-26 IPEDS figures, full-time undergraduate tuition plus required fees totaled $14,400 for Oregon residents and $40,436 for nonresidents. Those amounts are billed educational charges, not a complete annual budget.
Adding the listed room, board, books and supplies to tuition and fees produces a partial annual estimate of $32,205 for a resident and $55,995 for a nonresident. It excludes expenses such as transportation and personal spending, and an individual housing or course schedule may cost more or less. Graduate tuition, Ecampus charges and program-specific costs follow different schedules.
Published price is not the same as net price after grants and scholarships. In the reported financial-aid data, average net price was $13,036 for students in the lowest listed family-income bracket and $27,459 for those in the highest; these are averages for defined aid-reporting groups, not quotes for an applicant. Reported aid included grants and loans, with 33% of students in the applicable measure receiving student loans. Eligible students may also use federal grants, Oregon aid, institutional scholarships and military education benefits. Completing the FAFSA or another applicable aid application and checking scholarship deadlines is necessary to obtain an individualized estimate; loans must generally be repaid, while grants and scholarships usually do not.
Oregon State students can seek campus jobs, and eligible students may receive Federal Work-Study as part of a financial-aid offer. Work-Study is permission to earn wages through qualifying employment up to an offered amount; it is not a grant paid automatically, and a student still has to find and work in an eligible position.
Other part-time campus jobs may be open to students without Work-Study. Positions can range from office and service work to roles related to research or an academic field, depending on openings and qualifications. Students should compare expected hours with their course load and look for positions through OSU's student-employment channels. Approved community-based jobs may have separate Work-Study conditions.
For longer-term career planning, OSU provides career counseling, résumé and interview help, job-search resources, employer events and opportunities to connect with alumni. These services can support an internship or job search, but using them is distinct from receiving a job offer. An internship is not required of every OSU student, although a particular program may have its own experiential requirements.
