LECOM's published undergraduate and graduate tuition figures should not be mistaken for the price of every professional degree. In IPEDS reporting for 2024-25, full-time undergraduate tuition was $14,790 for both Pennsylvania residents and nonresidents, with no required undergraduate fees reported in those categories. Reported full-time graduate tuition was $14,855, plus $300 in required fees, for either residency category.
Those IPEDS categories are useful reference points, but a DO, PharmD, or DMD applicant needs the current program-specific tuition and fee schedule. Professional programs can have different charges and academic calendars. An annual budget must also account for housing, food, books and equipment, transportation, health coverage, and expenses associated with clinical assignments. Combining one year's tuition with another year's living-cost estimate would not produce a reliable annual total.
Published tuition is not the same as an individual's final cost. Grants and scholarships can lower the amount paid, while loans spread payment over time but add repayment obligations. Financial-aid applicants should request the cost-of-attendance budget for their specific program, campus, and enrollment year and compare it with the aid offered.
Paid work may be possible during a LECOM program, but its feasibility depends on the degree's schedule, clinical requirements, and any limits attached to a student's aid or visa status. A part-time job, a paid academic position, and Federal Work-Study are not interchangeable.
Federal Work-Study, when included in an eligible student's aid package and offered for an eligible position, is earned through wages for hours worked; it is not an automatic reduction in a tuition bill. Applicants should ask LECOM's financial-aid office whether their particular degree and aid package permit participation and how positions are advertised. Separately, research, tutoring, or other paid opportunities may have their own hiring requirements. Professional students considering outside employment should check the attendance and rotation policies before relying on wages to cover essential expenses.
